We have developed a comprehensive suite of software tools, specifically targeted at analysis and data extraction on ancient and historical artifacts. Contemporary digital metrology and CAD systems are targeted at their respective industrial fields of deployment, and designed to operate in the context of CAD-driven design, and subsequent manufacturing validation. As a first approach, such tools are immensely valuable, but ultimately not sufficient for a complete understanding of ancient objects, that never come with original blueprints supplied.
Our analysis software combines advancements in data and compute-driven research, proven methods from modern metrology and a solid understanding of the specific context of the artifacts in question.
Through this approach, we aim to make solid, reproducible analysis and data extraction of ancient artifacts possible, in an open and community-driven environment.
